I've celebrated many birthdays with this man. Most of which I've actually screwed up.
His 20th birthday was overshadowed by wedding plans, and he spent his 21st birthday in a moving truck, driving from Utah to New Mexico and his only gift that year was a speeding ticket. I've successfully pulled off one surprise party during the nearly fourteen years we've been together, but most birthdays end up on the backburner because I'm usually still crashed out from Christmas.
But this year had to be epic.
Epic Meal Time that is.
I decided to turn one of our favorite YouTube shows into the theme for Matt's birthday party. I all began by sending out invitations.
And then ordering an equally epic gift for the ultimate bacon lover, thanks to the awesome guys at J&D's.
After the guests arrived and spent some time playing Wii U, the food was revealed.
We turned our pizza into pasta!

Finally, I was so excited to show off my grand masterpiece.
Bacon Birthday Cake!
Four layers of french vanilla and chocolate fudge cake with chocolate chips, chocolate butter cream frosting, topped with brown sugar candied bacon bits and chocolate dipped bacon pieces.
To say I'm currently suffering from a post party sugar high migraine would be an understatement.
I'm thrilled that the party turned out great. Glad that I was able to make a birthday good for him again, especially since the poor guy is still recovering from dental surgery.
So Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband.
And to echo the beautiful words he wrote in not one, but TWO of my high school yearbooks . . .
PS: Be awesome and go say Happy Birthday to The Amazing Spider-Matt, since he now has HIS OWN BLOG!
