Sharing Our Spoons - Week Two

Earlier today I read someone referring to Sharing Our Spoons as "S.O.S" which immediately had me laughing a little because then I got the Rhianna song stuck in my head, and then I started laughing harder because the chorus alone completely describes a chronic illness!!

S-O-S please someone help me
It's not healthy for me to feel this way
Y-O-U are making this har
d
I can't take it see it don't feel right
S-O-S please someone help me
It's not healthy for me to feel this way
Y-O-U are making this hard
You got me tossing and turning can't sleep at night

Anyone else think this is a pretty good theme song? At least for the crappy days. "Walking on Sunshine" can be the good day theme song.

For those just tuning in . . .

“Sharing Our Spoons” will be a weekly link-up where you are able to find support and encouragement to focus on your entire health. Not just physical but all of you.

Last week I made a bunch of goals and I actually kept a good portion of them.

Physical: Take vitamins! - This worked out pretty well except some days I have a gag reflex and others I don't. I've actually chilled on the vitamins for now because honestly I don't know what I should or shouldn't be taking. So once I get back to the doctors, I'm going to ask.

Mental/Emotional: Journal out the crazy. - Ugh, I did this one day. And it worked alright, except I get too much in my head even when I'm trying to get all the crazy out of it. I think instead of this, I'm going to try and just be more open on my blog.

Spiritual: Study Sunday lessons every day. - Didn't get this one very well. Need to work on it.

Something Fun: Spend quality time with my husband. - This one I totally rocked! My hubby and I got two new games and have been playing several days a week. I can really see the difference between us.

BONUS: Go outside for five minutes everyday. - I may have skipped once or twice but this was a success! I went out and planted a small garden that needs watering every day. Since I water it in the early evening when the sun is beginning to set, there are no harsh lights and the temperature is nice and cool (but not cold).

THIS WEEKS GOALS!

Physical: Move more. I know that I can't get to the gym right now, or run a mile, but I'm going to try and move more. We've got a stationary bike that I found I can ride comfortably for a few minutes before things begin to hurt. I can also stretch more everyday to help my muscles and joints when they are feeling super tight. I'm not setting a limit on how much to move, because every day is different. Just move more.

Mental/Emotional: Try and blog at least once a week (outside of S.O.S) about how I'm doing in regards to my health. If it's a bad day, blog out the badness. If it's a good day, then blog about that. Either way, be open and honest.

Spiritual: Study Sunday lessons every day. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Something Fun: Spend quality time with husband. I'm keeping the same one as last week because I want to build it as a habit. He is my rock and my support and I just can't seem to do without the big lug.

BONUS: Go outside for five minutes everyday. Keeping this one as well because I think it's really good for me. Not only do I have to go outside to make sure the garden is watered, but I also want to try and go outside and walk around the yard, maybe take photos or play with the dog. Find some real enjoyment outdoors.

I have to do pressure free goals. Especially considering I have OCD to deal with.

I was never one for goals.  But your's are different somehow.  They are inspirational.  They are pressure free.  I like what you are doing, including how you record your progress.  i think I will do the same.  Thanks.  Oh.  And I am proud of you.
