Tonight my mother in law and I each got one of these...
And then this happened...
Can I just say that Ree Drummond is the most adorable person ever. She showed us a little presentation before the signing began, where she showcased how her photography has improved, talked about how she ended up on the ranch, showed us pictures of her husband wearing chaps, and then sang to pictures of her basset hound, Charlie.
When it came time to meet her, I was thrilled. I've been reading her blog for as long as I've been blogging myself. She's the reason I fell in love with cast iron skillets, and Kitchen Aid mixers, and butter and bacon . . . no wait . . . pretty sure I was already in love with those last two.
I walked up and handed her my book to sign and she looked up at me and said, "I know you from Twitter!"
And my heart jumped for joy and we were instantly kindred spirits. So I pulled out my phone and showed her pictures of my old basset hound, Whiskey. Then I told her I also had a pug. "Did you know that I love pugs?" She asked me. "Why yes, yes I did."
I almost said that if my pug ever had puppies again I would send her one, but if she ever saw a picture of my wonky eyed pug, she might deny ever knowing me - even on Twitter.

I'm jealous. I love The Pioneer Woman.
You both are adorable! I'm a little bummed I missed her when she was in Seattle, but sometimes that just happens.
So glad you had a great time.
How fun! I wanted to attend the book singing when it was here in Dallas, but I could not re-arrange my schedule to accommodate it! What a cute picture of you two!
I know this is totally off topic of this post, but I found you through Sharing Our Spoons and wanted to pop over and say hi! Look forward to getting to know you through SOS. :)
