They really are. Matt lost his Boxer a few years ago and he's still very much affected by it. I've never lost a dog like this before, but almost losing Willow last year nearly put me in the hospital I swear.

I'm so sorry Jia. I know how excited you were to bring Sookie into your family and how much you adored her right away. Try to hold onto how much love you and Matt were able to give her while she was with you, although the time was far too short. I hope you both are holding up okay; I definitely agree with everyone who's said that pets are a part of the family, and the loss and mourning is always so painful.
