If you're new to Color Me Untypical, and you loved the Twilight Saga, (the whole thing), head over to Twilight Continues where I'm attempting to continue the story myself. Please go read the first 4 Chapters and leave feedback . . . seriously, it fuels me.

Untypical Partier (Welcome UBP Guests!)

Ultimate Blog Party 2009
Hey party people, welcome to Color Me Untypical. This is actually the first year I'll be participating in the Ultimate Blog Party. I think my invitation got lost in the mail last year, of course, I wasn't popular last year. But I am this year, or at least I like to think I am!

My name is Untypically Jia and this is my place to talk about my strange life, and the strange world. I am a housewife of 24 years old. I do not have children yet, so I'm trying to perfect my skills at homemaking before I'm forced to mop the floor with a baby on my hip.

I post regularly about marriage, mostly because that what my world is about. Becoming a great wife. My husband totally rocks, and I'm not above posting his sexy face all over my blog.

See?

This is Matt, I also refer to him as hubby, hubs, the husband, or his prefered nickname Frank the Beast. He's in my blog a lot, mostly because I like to document our conversations to prove that I'm much smarter than he is.

He gets his foot in his mouth sometimes, which eventually ends up on the blog too! Blogging is awesome, WAY better than marriage counseling! In reality he does a lot of good, but those posts aren't nearly as funny as the other ones.

So what else will you find here? An inappropriate fondness of Twilight I assure you. I've even created a "How To Guide" for those who have yet to experience the books. Because I'm a giver, and people should learn from my wise experience and stuff. I even have stuff for people who've already read Twilight, just somewhere over here.

And if none of this stuff keeps you around my blog for very long, then I thank you for coming, and here's a party favor just for you.

Speaking of party favors. The Ultimate Blog Party has some wickedly awesome ones! Just to name a few (that I want for myself), they've got and Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer sponsored by Fat Loss Chronicles, a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer sponsored by Moms Who Think, and something that will help me learn Spanish for once (cause I live in New Mexico and that comes in handy) sponsored by my favourite chica Lolli from Life is Sweet! Those are just to name a few (a few others would be #'s 12, 13, 20, 49, 113, and USC33!)

So leave a comment, let me know you stopped by so I can say hello! And for my regular readers, head over to The Ultimate Blog Party for a kickin' good time!

Don't forget to Check out Twilight Continues and see where my story takes you since Breaking Dawn ended!

Untypically Irish

Hi, I'm Jia and I'm Irish.

And today is kinda my day.

I'm not one of those Irish that is just Irish today either. I have a long line of family history stemming from Ireland, all of which I have great pride in. So I thought I'd talk a little today about where I come from, who my family is and what Ireland, and of course Saint Patrick's Day mean to me.

My family wasn't one that came from Ireland during the famine over the boats to America. No, we have long since married into English families and came over on the first boats and settled mostly in Massachusetts, and although the history books say that we came from England, thanks to my great Grandmother, who was a genealogy freak, I know exactly where I come from.

Here's the quick version of my family line:

Me
- Mom
-- Grandad
--- Great Grandmother Arretta
---- Jesse Wallace Hardy
----- Sophia Lois Goodridge
------ Penelope Randolph Gardner (Moved from Mass to Utah where our family settled)
------- Lusannah Bryant
-------- Joshua Bryant
--------- Tabitha Ford
---------- Joseph Ford
----------- Sarah Dingley
------------ John Dingley (This is where my family came to America in 1600's)
------------- Francis Dingley
-------------- Mary Neville
--------------- Sir Edward Neville (Yeah, "Sir Edward". He married Eleanor Windsor which actually makes me related to the English Royal line, but that's a whole other post. Today is about Ireland!_
---------------- George Neville (Middlesex, England)
----------------- Edward Neville (Durham, England)
------------------ Ralph De Neville (Chateau De Beaufort, France)
------------------- Maud De Percy
-------------------- Henry De Percy (Northumberland, England)
--------------------- Eleanor Fitzalan
---------------------- Isabella De Mortimer
----------------------- Maud De Braose (Glamorganshire, Wales)
------------------------ Eve Marshall (Pembroke, Wales) I wonder if this is where my love of Pembroke Welsh Corgi's originates from? LOL
------------------------- Isabel Fitzgilbert De Clare

-------------------------- Eva McMurrough
--------------------------- Dermot King Of Leinster

(Leinster is one of the Provinces of Ireland, in the east of Ireland and comprises the counties of Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.)

This is where my family history goes into the great Kings and Queens of Ireland, bringing up surnames like O'Brien, O'Toole and of course McMurrough long before there names ever resembled anything pronounceable to those who didn't speak Gaelic. Here they are anyways tho: Ó Briain, Ó Tuathail, and Mac Murchadha.

So I may be like 30+ Generation Irish, but I'm still technically a Princess if you think about it. I still bleed 50 shades of green. I still get homesick for a land I've never stepped foot on. I still eat potatoes (much to my husbands amusement) and I long to learn Gaelic, the language of my family.

So today, drown the Shamrock, proudly wear green and give a toast to St. Patrick (who eventually made it possible for my family to accept Christ, and would one day move to America where in Massachusetts they would hear of a man called Joseph Smith, and a man named Brigham Young would lead them to their promised land west.)

Even if you don't think you're Irish, you just might be. And if not, everyone is Irish today, Lá Fhéile Pádraig Shona dhaoibh!

Anniversary Recap!

I haven't posted in a whole week. Well, it's because I've been recovering from my anniversary last Saturday (and I got sick on Tuesday). So I finally got some pictures together so I could tell you all about how rockin' my hubby is.

Friday afternoon when he got home from work, we went up to BIL and SIL's house. I stayed with SIL and my niece and he took our nephew and BIL out to pick out some of my presents.

Afterward, we left and went to dinner to frankly, the fanciest place I've ever eaten at! We had sauteed jumbo shrimp in a chorizo and tequila-lime sauce for a starter and ginger mint ice tea.

Then we split a small salad with aged balsamic vinegar, huge tomatoes and in house made mozzarella. Oh and the bread! Oh the bread! It was this amazing herb and sharp cheddar baked bread with homemade butter. OMG! We brought some home!

We had steak for two which was a 48oz porterhouse that was so unbelievably tender and juicy! It came with a red qine reduced au ju and we ordered a bearnaise sauce on the side made with real saffron! Oh love saffron!

And they had green chili whipped potatoes and a mac and cheese casserole made with . . . wait for it . . . truffles!!! And they poured white truffle oil over the top of it! OMG! It was incredible. Seriously, we're such food snobs.

We had cremebrule for dessert and it tastes like roasted marshmallows, soooo good.

Then we came home and went to bed.

Then Saturday morning, he wakes me up at 5:30 (cause that's what time he had to leave for work) and says that my treasure hunt has begun. So he left the house and called me and said, "Turn over." So I do and I find an anniversary card on my nightstand with a note that gives me a clue to find the next present. I eventually find a dozen white roses on the dining room table with another clue, that leads me into our den where he's bought a movie that we saw on one of our best dates, and another clue that takes me into our bedroom where he left a CD of Motown's Greatest Love Songs. Then the final clue says my last present is in the driveway.

So I get dressed and go outside and he's waiting in the car. I laugh on the phone and say, "Are you my present?" And he says, "Partly. I got the next four days off." Which is awesome cause I was upset he wasn't able to get our anniversary off to begin with.

Then I get in the car and he hands be a small white bag. It could tell it was jewelry but I assumed that it was like some Twilight inspired bracelet or something he found at Hot Topic or something like that. But I opened it up and it was a brand new wedding ring with 3 diamonds in it. My first wedding ring was bought at Walmart. Which I didn't mind, heck I picked it out! But this one was from an actual jeweler! I freaked out completely!

Then later that day while his Mom and I were grocery shopping, we come home and my sweet handsome hubby cut his hair. This is actually a big deal. My husband has been growing his hair out for over 2 years now. It was longer than mine! His parents hated it, and while I didn't hate it, he knew I preferred him with short hair. He said he had been wanting to cut it for a few months now, but decided to wait until now for me. He looks soo good.

BEFORE

AFTER

Saturday afternoon we went with BIL and SIL to the Fiery Foods Festival here in New Mexico. Hubs and I love spicy food and this is the first year we were able to actually make it to the show. It was awesome. We left with a great deal of freebies and heartburn.

This is fudge made with green chilies, chipotle and habaneros.

Mmm . . . green chili hot cocoa!

20 minutes in to the Festival and BIL needed milk. I made fun of him and then took a picture to later shame him with. My man tasted all the spicy stuff and only ever drank a glass of water. But he's already hot stuff, so I can understand how he'd be immune.

After we left the festival, we went with some friends to see comedian Lewis Black live.

It was an amazing anniversary that I will never forget.

PS: Anniversary Sex is fantabulous!

My Twilight Addiction Has Gone Too Far

Sure I've read all the books (including the outtakes and extras on Stephenie Meyers website), I've seen the movie a dozen times, but it's not like I named my new puppy Edward!

I named him Jasper.

But I do have good reason. I mean, I've always named dogs after characters I liked! Willow (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Ozzy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Colossus (X-Men) and River (Firefly). I mean seriously, did you think I wouldn't take my obsession this far? You don't even know me anymore!
It's kind of funny how perfect the name fits tho:

He has the ability to change the mood of anyone he's around. (Normally I feel nothing but love for my baby, but he's yapping at me right now and suddenly I feel very irritable.)

He's the best fighter.

And after getting too excited while playing, the little crap head just bit my neck. How's that for irony?

PS: I know you're all wondering what happened over the anniversary weekend, and let's just say that I've got pictures to upload and stories to tell.
