I need to clean, I'm going to clean, but I used to actually love doing it. Strange huh? At heart I'll always be a Happy Housewife and nothing else and that's fine with me. This is a season.
I really don't understand women who hate being housewives. Who get bored being housewives. Make a choice to be happy. If you choose to be home, then do your job there. If you choose to work, then do it there. Really tho, I love being a housewife. I love cleaning, I love decorating my home, I love grocery shopping and cooking and waiting for my husband to come home from work so I can dote on him a bunch.
But so far everyday this week he picks me up from work and we both come home and just crash on the couch. The house is a wreck and we haven't had a home cooked meal all week.
I need to figure out how to work outside of the home for a few hours a day and still be a housewife. 3 hours a day does not take away my housewife status. That is my job, but being home is my career, my life.
I need to find that balance and embrace it.
I also need my carpets shampooed still.
Daily Gratitudes:
- Orange Juice in the early morning.
- The speakers on my computer stopped making an annoying whirring noise.
- The dogs are well behaved.
- My husband got a raise!
- My playlist which I'm hoping will perk me up and give me some darn energy!
Love Booklet:
- My hard working hubby got a raise this week, just proving what an amazing guy he is! He works so hard at his job to provide for us.

Do you listen to Dr. Laura? While I don't agree with everything she says, she is very supportive of "Housewives" She believes that if the woman does not make the house a home, then no one does it and is not really a home. I applaud you. You have your priorities straight.
I don't listen to her show but I have read some of her books. I had to go through a process of book reading before I became the wife I am today. Her books were some of those.
I also recommend Happy Housewives by Darla Shine and Fascinating Womanhood by Helen Andelin.
I agree with Jill! Well done for trying to do everything!! I don't work outsie the hoe but since having Ollie, our house is messy a lot of the time... always clean... but messy. It is hard to keep on top of it when you busy with other things too.
hope it starts getting easier for ya hun! :)

I'm so happy that your husband got a raise! That always helps. It's amazing how just a little part time work throws my housewife routine off.
LOL...I work from 8-5, then do blog layouts from 5-bedtime. I will get in a workout every now and then (when I'm not sick all the time like I have been!) and sometimes will take an hour to clean once or twice a week.
I've even taken vacation days off work to get things done around the house.
What's funny though is that my husband works from 6am-2pm. And he doesn't lift a FINGER. This is why there are house WIVES not house HUSBANDS. They're useless!
I can't wait for the days when I can be at home, with my little online business, and be able to clean whenever and how ever much I want and do REAL crafts! (Not just blog layouts lol)
I love to clean. I am actually addicted to it finding it quite soothing. Good luck on finding that part time job allowing you the housewife status again. I remember the days spent in a Special Ed classroom coming home only wanting to zone out in front of Oprah. God bless and have a good day.
I completely feel you! I'm working 20 hours a week and I miss being a full time housewife too! I'm still searching for that balance...once I find it I'll be sure to let you know my secret!
This is a funny humor blog that you have here. I have one myself and I would like to exchange links with you. Let me know what you think.
Sincerely,
Jason
