So I had an interesting alarm clock this morning. My mother in law woke me up asking if I smelled gas. Walking out of our bedroom right in front of the closet that contains the furnace and water heater, I was like, "Wow, I smell gas."
We checked everything in the house we could think of and then called the gas company, who told us to get out of the house as quickly as possible.
I tried to get dressed quick, and could hear my mother in law:
MIL: "Are you guys out of the house yet?"
Me: "Not yet!"
MIL: "Well hurry up! If the furnace explodes right in front of your room, you'll die!"
Me: "Well at least it'll be a quick death!"
She didn't find it as funny as I did.
Anyways, it turns out our furnace has been leaking for a few weeks now, maybe longer, and after looking up symptoms that go along with exposure to leaking gas, things are starting to make sense! The last month or so, Matt and I have been feeling horrible all over! Migraines, nausea, fatigue, memory loss, dizzyness, and tons of stuff! It's crazy and apparently all of these are symptoms!
So lesson of the day . . . check your furnace and make sure it's not leaking!
Also . . . mother in law's lose their sense of humor when exposed to high levels of gas.
