Anniversary Recap!
I haven't posted in a whole week. Well, it's because I've been recovering from my anniversary last Saturday (and I got sick on Tuesday). So I finally got some pictures together so I could tell you all about how rockin' my hubby is.
Friday afternoon when he got home from work, we went up to BIL and SIL's house. I stayed with SIL and my niece and he took our nephew and BIL out to pick out some of my presents.
Afterward, we left and went to dinner to frankly, the fanciest place I've ever eaten at! We had sauteed jumbo shrimp in a chorizo and tequila-lime sauce for a starter and ginger mint ice tea.
Then we split a small salad with aged balsamic vinegar, huge tomatoes and in house made mozzarella. Oh and the bread! Oh the bread! It was this amazing herb and sharp cheddar baked bread with homemade butter. OMG! We brought some home!
We had steak for two which was a 48oz porterhouse that was so unbelievably tender and juicy! It came with a red qine reduced au ju and we ordered a bearnaise sauce on the side made with real saffron! Oh love saffron!
And they had green chili whipped potatoes and a mac and cheese casserole made with . . . wait for it . . . truffles!!! And they poured white truffle oil over the top of it! OMG! It was incredible. Seriously, we're such food snobs.
We had cremebrule for dessert and it tastes like roasted marshmallows, soooo good.
Then we came home and went to bed.
Then Saturday morning, he wakes me up at 5:30 (cause that's what time he had to leave for work) and says that my treasure hunt has begun. So he left the house and called me and said, "Turn over." So I do and I find an anniversary card on my nightstand with a note that gives me a clue to find the next present. I eventually find a dozen white roses on the dining room table with another clue, that leads me into our den where he's bought a movie that we saw on one of our best dates, and another clue that takes me into our bedroom where he left a CD of Motown's Greatest Love Songs. Then the final clue says my last present is in the driveway.
So I get dressed and go outside and he's waiting in the car. I laugh on the phone and say, "Are you my present?" And he says, "Partly. I got the next four days off." Which is awesome cause I was upset he wasn't able to get our anniversary off to begin with.
Then I get in the car and he hands be a small white bag. It could tell it was jewelry but I assumed that it was like some Twilight inspired bracelet or something he found at Hot Topic or something like that. But I opened it up and it was a brand new wedding ring with 3 diamonds in it. My first wedding ring was bought at Walmart. Which I didn't mind, heck I picked it out! But this one was from an actual jeweler! I freaked out completely!
Then later that day while his Mom and I were grocery shopping, we come home and my sweet handsome hubby cut his hair. This is actually a big deal. My husband has been growing his hair out for over 2 years now. It was longer than mine! His parents hated it, and while I didn't hate it, he knew I preferred him with short hair. He said he had been wanting to cut it for a few months now, but decided to wait until now for me. He looks soo good.
BEFORE
AFTER
Saturday afternoon we went with BIL and SIL to the Fiery Foods Festival here in New Mexico. Hubs and I love spicy food and this is the first year we were able to actually make it to the show. It was awesome. We left with a great deal of freebies and heartburn.
This is fudge made with green chilies, chipotle and habaneros.Mmm . . . green chili hot cocoa!
20 minutes in to the Festival and BIL needed milk. I made fun of him and then took a picture to later shame him with. My man tasted all the spicy stuff and only ever drank a glass of water. But he's already hot stuff, so I can understand how he'd be immune.
After we left the festival, we went with some friends to see comedian Lewis Black live.
It was an amazing anniversary that I will never forget.
PS: Anniversary Sex is fantabulous!
