Matt, like any typical man becomes a needy creature anytime he gets hurt or is sick, but when the possibility of death comes close, he's pretty much untouchable. As though there is some law of nature that will prevent anything from really happening to him.
He likes to walk through parking lots and across streets without really looking or stopping for cars, I do my "wife gasp" anytime I see a car, or curb, or potentially fatal cricket nearby and grip his hand.
Matt: Pedestrians have the right of way.
Me: That doesn't mean some idiot won't still hit us with his car.
Matt: We have insurance.
Me: What if we die!?
Matt: Oh, you won't die. Maybe you'll just break a leg.
Me: That could kill you.
Matt: No it couldn't.
Me: Yes it could! If you break a bone it's possible that you could bleed to death.
Matt: You're making stuff up.
Me: I am not!
Matt: Where'd you hear that, "college"? (He brings up my college in a way as though I were talking about Hogwarts.)
Me: Yes. If you break a femur, you could bleed to death.
Matt: That's not a medical word. Femur is a female lemur.
Me: *Twitch*
Matt: And a male lemur is a Hemur. I saw them at the zoo. They'd know.

Me: WHAT?!
Matt: You're fun.

LOL
My dh says that if you break a femur the hemur will come and kill you. So, you can still die. ;-)
