Talk About a Bad Hair Cut!

Okay, so I know that Talk About Tuesday is supposed to be all positive and stuff, but I think I've withheld this post for long enough. Two weeks ago Hubby and I were having an interesting day. He took a Wednesday off because there was a concert we HAD to go to. We spent the earlier part of our day running errands and grabbing a bite to eat. It was a pleasant day. I decided it was time for a hair cut. See, last October I chopped off all my hair ala "pixie style" and spiked it. I love the hair cut, because it was my choice after all. However, Matt didn't like it so much so I agreed to grow it out, and I have been doing that since then. My hair however wasn't growing out evenly. The front and back were long, but the sides had chunks missing and it looked really tacky.

I instructed the hair stylist to give me an A line cut ala Victoria Beckham. After two tries of explaining to her what this meant, this is what I was left with:

See the chunk in the side that's still missing? See how a bad hair cut also pisses me off and leaves my face with no makeup? (LOL)
Yep, she shaved the back of my head...
But only half of it. Check out that right side . . . horrible right? Matt continues to insist that it's cute though other responses have been as such:

MIL: Oh it's not that bad, a little uneven and Oh my Gosh!! (upon seeing the back)

Best Friend: Oh sweetie, good lord . . . we'll fix this, I don't know how, but . . . we'll fix this.

Other Best Friend: Oh snap . . . where was this place? Cause I ain't going there!

Happy Housewives: That woman needs to be pistol whipped.

So now, instead of cutting the rest of my hair off to match, I wear this:
Which I think is actually pretty dang cute!

Was the stylist new to the profession? The first sign of danger would be that she didn't understand what an a line cut was.

It's hair, it'll grow out. That's a typical response to haircuts, but it works, right? :D

You were a much better sport than I would have been. You are also smart to have found a solution that makes you happy.

Yikes! Well, now you know NOT to go there AGAIN!! Until 2 years ago I did not have a regular hair person. Now I go to Paris (he's a guy and no he's not gay believe it or not!). Once you find someone you click with you would move to the ends of the earth to follow him/her! :) Good luck with growing your hair out!!

Wow. Definitely find someone else to go to. I think I could do better, and I am not a hairstylist. Like your solution though, cute!

Oh goodness, she did quite a number on you. I think if you give it another couple of weeks you'll be able to have the back evened out quite a bit.

Good luck!!

I would be so angry if someone gave me that haircut that I would have posted her name and where she worked right in this post! Hang in there; bad haircuts happen to the best of us.

That's why I haven't cut my hair (other than trim) in 8 years. Too afraid! Very Afraid!!! LOL
